“A talisman of ancient wonderings” – perfect!
There’s some really evocative imagery here. I can almost touch it.
What was the exercise?
I get a mental picture of a little girl with that little-girl wispy hair, barely held together by an old-fashioned hairclip, maybe one that was her grandmother’s.
